CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS
The shaded boxes are keyed to the drawings that will appear throughout the steps. Cut a snip from each fabric and glue the snips in to the blank box next to (not on top of) the appropriate shaded boxes.
Three color way works well with this pattern.
Fabric A - Light background fat qrt.
Fabric B - Med. fat qrt.
Fabric C - Primary Accenct fat qrt.
Cut the following measurements then choose either Twist A or B do not do both.
From Fabric A
Cut 4, 2-7/8” square
- Cut squares once diagonally to make 8 half – square triangles.
From Fabric B

Cut 2, 2-7/8” squares.
Cut 1, 3-3/4” square.
- Cut square once diagonally to make 2 half- square triangles.
From Fabric C

Cut 2, 4-7/8” squares
- Cut squares once diagonally to make 4 half – square triangles.
Cut 1, 3-3/4” square
- Cut square once diagonally to make 2 half- square triangles.
Cut 2, 2-7/8” squares
**Note only choose Twist 1-A or Twist 1-B do not do both.
Twist 1-A
Fabric A
Cut 16, 2-1/2” squares.
Take the 2-1/2” squares of Fabric C diagonally fold in half, finger pressing will be fine or you can make in pencil, this will be your sewing line.
Fabric B
Cut 6, 2-1/2” x 4-1/2” rectangle.
Fabric C
Cut 2, 2-1/2” x 4-1/2” rectangle.
Place a 2-1/2” square on top of the rectangle right sides together and sew on the folded line. Cut away the extra part of the square, leave the rectangle intact. Sew another square onto the rectangle, to make a flying geese segment as shown. Press triangles out.

Repeat the step above for the 2 Fabric A rectangles.
Sew Fabric A, flying geese units together with 2, Fabric B flying geese, to form 2 units. Sew remaining flying geese units together, as shown.

Twist 1-B
Fabric A
Cut 4, 2-1/2” x 4-1/2” rectangles.
Cut 8, 2-1/2” squares.
Take the 2-1/2” squares of Fabric C diagonally fold in half, finger pressing will be fine or you can make in pencil, this will be your sewing line.
Fabric B
Cut 4, 2-1/2” x 4-1/2” rectangles.
Place a 2-1/2” square on top of the rectangle and sew on the folded line. Cut away the extra part of the square, leave the rectangle intact. Sew another square onto the rectangle, to make a flying geese segment as shown. Make 4 units. Press triangles out.

Sew flying geese units together with 2-1/2” x 4-1/2”, Fabric B rectangles, to form 4 units as shown below.

Clue 2
Place 2-7/8” squares of Fabric B & C right sides together, cut diagonally as shown.

Join layered squares to form 4 square segments as shown. Press towards darker triangle.

Join above segments and 8, 2-7/8” half – square triangles to form 4 units, as shown.

Join above segments with Fabric C, 4-7/8” half – square triangles to form 4 blocks, as shown. Press towards larger triangle.

Clue 3
Join 3-3/4” half – square triangles of Fabric B and C to make segments below, make 2. Press toward darker triangle.

Sew above segments together to make the block below.

Clue 4
Take blocks made in Clue 2 and the blocks made in either Twist 1 –A or B sew together as shown.
Press


Sew remaining blocks from either of the twist with the blocks made in Clue 3, as shown.
